The Kiwanis Club of Shafter was chartered on October 10, 1938. Currently, the club has no Charter Members.

Weekly luncheon meetings are held on Wednesday from 12:00-1:00 PM at the Veteran's Memorial Hall, 309 California Ave.

On April 21, 2016, Shafter was honored as "2014-15 Distinguished Club", and Lt. Gov. Greg Mudge thanked Pres. Ben Wilson for their GREAT EFFORTS and ACCOMPLISHMENTS. (Middle)

On April 21, 2016, Phillip Jimenez was presented the 2015-16 Distinguished Service Awards by CNH Dist. Gov. Cherice Gilliam and Lt. Gov. Greg Mudge. (Right)

At the Shafter hosted DCM on July 16, 2015, the Div. 33 "Because We Knew You Award" was presented to honor the following members past & present: Joe Frizzell, Ben Grundy, Jon Johnston, Marvin Kirschenmann, Robert McDaniel, Rod Becker, Paul Charon, Rex Tudor, Ben Wilson and Arlie Smith.

In order to provide funds for our Community Service Projects, the Shafter Kiwanis Club uses the following fund-raisers: Pancake Breakfast and Fireworks.

Some of the Community Service Projects include: $10,000 in scholarships to Shafter High seniors; Terrific Kids Programs; Harvest Parade and Carnival; Christmas Food Baskets for needy families; Kiwanis sponsored SHS Basketball Tournament; Sponsor teams in the Shafter Parks and Rec. Leagues, Babe Ruth Baseball and Gladiator Football; Community Easter Sunrise Service; Books for classrooms; Spring Into Reading Program; New Teacher Luncheon; Shafter Freestyle Wrestling; and the Distinguished Young Women Program.

The Shafter High Key Club is part of the Service Leadership Program (SLP).

As of 9/30/16 in the WSP2/MNT program, the Shafter Club has given $1,000.00 or helped provide 3 shots to ELIMINATE 556 maternal/neonatal tetanus cases.

As of 9/30/10 in the WSP1/IDD program, the Shafter Club has given $14,003.80 or helped 280,076 kids from IDD. We rank 42nd in the Cal-Nev-Had District and 4th in Div. 33. The Shafter Club has 3 Hixsons, 3 Tablets of Honor and 2 Dunlaps.

In the Div. 33 Bloodmobile Project (5/13/04), Div. 33 has raised $101,515.30 (or 100.11%) of the $101,400 cost to purchase a 3-bed unit for Houchin Blood Service. We have donated $129.00 (or 0.13%) and rank 16th place.
