2000-2001 Division 33 Lt. Governor Phil Field News:

Division 33 is in 2nd place in the Cal-Nev-Ha District and 34th place in KIF. Division 33 has donated $140,320.18 to help over 2.83 million children fight IDD worldwide. In Cal-Nev-Ha District, the Div. 33 clubs are ranked: Kern - 4th; Westchester - 12th; Tehachapi - 21st and Shafter - 37th. Kern Club is 86th worldwide.

INTER. PRES. BO SHAFER INVITATION TO NEW YORK CITY GALA

On August 15, 2001, Kern's WSP/IDD Chair PSDLG John Stephenson was invited to attend a gala banquet that the US Fund for UNICEF is hosting in New York City on September 22, 2001 by International President Bo Shafer. Complete Letter Gala cancelled because World Trade Center terrorist attack on September 11, 2001. It has been rescheduled for the 2002 New Orleans International Convention.

DIVISION 33 HONOR CLUB BANNERS

To date, only 9 clubs have received the "Honor Club Banner" in the Cal-Nev-Ha District. Three are in Div. 33: Kern Club (33 Hixsons and 2 Tablet of Honor), Westchester Club (21 Hixsons and 3 Tablet of Honor) and Tehachapi Club (15 Hixsons and 1 Tablet of Honor). On June 13, 2001, Div. 33 Lt. Gov. Phil Field with Kiwanis International Foundation District Chair PDLG Phil Niederauer presented Tehachapi Club President Al Gregg with the newest Honor Club Banner at their regular meeting.

DIVISION 33 2000-01 DKA's

During 2000-01 Lt. Gov. Phil Field's year, Div. 33 has 2 DKA's. The order in which their DKA's requirements were completed: 1. Pres. Tammy Lodermeier (South Bakersfield), and 2. PSDLG John Stephenson (Kern). (Lower Right-Right)

DIVISION 33 HONORS IDD BANNER PATCHES

At the DCM on February 15, 2001 (Westchester Host), Lt. Gov. Phil Field presented IDD banner patches for new levels of contributions: Shafter - PP Judge Robert McDaniel for $300/member, Bakersfield - Pat Rogers for $100/member and Rosedale PLG Ray Hacker for $100/member.

DIVISION 33 HONOR CLUB BANNERS

More than 250 Kiwanis Clubs have achieved Honor Club Status. Only 7 clubs have received the "Honor Club Banner" in the Cal-Nev-Ha District. Two are in Div. 33: Kern Club (30 Hixsons and 2 Tablet of Honor) and Westchester Club (21 Hixsons and 3 Tablet of Honor).

DIVISION 33 TABLET OF HONOR AWARDS

As of April 2000, 153 Tablet of Honor Awards had been presented in the Cal-Nev-Ha District. Of which, six TOH's were in Div. 33: 1. Late Gov. Glenn Stockbridge (Bakersfield), 2. PSDLG John Stephenson (Kern), 3. PLG Ben Grundy (Shafter), 4. PDLG Phil Niederauer (Westchester), 5. PP Steve Corbin (Westchester) and 6. PLG Sherlo Shively (Westchester). As of March 2001, eight more TOH's have been added: 7. Pres. Bob Doozan (Bakersfield) & 8. Amy Ainsworth (Bakersfield) (Upper Left), 9. Pres. Tammy Lodermeier (South Bakersfield) (Upper Right), 10. Marvin Kirschenmann (Shafter) (Lower Left), 11. PP Ryan Hiebert (Shafter) (Lower Left), 12. PLG Ray Hacker (Rosedale) (Lower Middle-Left), 13. LG Phil Field (Kern) (Lower Middle) and 14. PSDLG Lynn Buttcane (Tehachapi) (Lower Middle-Right).

DIVISION 33 1999-00 DKA's

During 1999-00 Lt. Gov. Ray Hacker's year, Div. 33 had 23 DKA's (5 items) and 3 Super DKA's (10 items). The order in which their DKA's requirements were completed: 1. PSDLG John Stephenson (Kern), 2. UNICEF RECEPTION AT MIAMI BEACH CONVENTION

Because PSDLG John Stephenson has given more than $5,000 to IDD, the United States Fund for UNICEF honored him with a plaque that was inscribed "with sincere gratitude on behalf of many children whose lives have been saved and improved through your generous contribution". In addition, John and Tammy Lodermeier (South Bakersfield President-designate) had their pictures taken with former ABC-TV 20/20 star Hugh Downs. (Far Right)

DIV. 33 NEW IDD PROGRAM

At the April 13th DCM, Div. IDD Chair PDLG Lynn Buttcane (Tehachapi) announced a new IDD program for Div. 33. When Div. 33 clubs raise $15,000 for IDD after March 31, 2000, Lt. Gov. Ray Hacker, Div. IDD Chair Lynn Buttcane and PSDLG John Stephenson will cut off their locks for IDD. As of 9/30/00, Div. 33 clubs raised $17,530.54 (116.8%) of their goal.
